2022 Chery Tiggo 2 PRO: Small, Stylish and FUN!

The Chery Tiggo 2 PRO is a youthful, technological, safe and Quirky crossover, it brings it all! It stands out for its sporty and adventurous image with a completely redesigned exterior and interior.

The 2 Pro, which is positioned above the Tiggo 2 has had improvements that goes such a long way from the standard Tiggo 2, plus it’s 1.5L inline-4 which is the smae but not really because it feels much better.

Exterior:

What stands out most in its design is the new front, which integrates a new mask with 3D details, reminiscent of its brothers in the Pro range, as well as new separate front lights, with a top LED strip for daytime and position lights.

Below, we find halogen projector headlamps that looks similar to a Hyundai Kona, 16-inch alloys, We also see some novelties in the C-pillar, with new moldings with the inscription of the model, as well as new smoky rear spotlights, new black molding that communicates them and new bumpers, which integrate decorative exhaust outlets in the lower area.

Interior:

As soon as you enter the cabin, you will notice that the Chery Tiggo 2 Pro has this sporty interior layout which is a major upgrade to the standard car, starting with its steering wheel that reminds us of some of its older brothers, with a more thick sporty shape with the flat-bottom design, lined in leather and with commands for the multimedia system and others.

The dashboard also offers a total change in its design including the instrument cluster, in addition to a central screen for its on-board computer, although it does not integrate a digital screen like its older siblings.

Its multimedia system now has a larger screen, reaching 9 inches, which in addition to offering the back camera, integrates connectivity with Apple Carplay and Mirror link, still it does not have Android Auto.

Engine and Performance:

The Tiggo 2 Pro comes with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with four cylinders, a power output of 105 HP at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 135 Nm at 2,750 rpm, mated to a CVT transmission which simulates 9-speeds.

Yes, unfortunately this car has a CVT transmission which not only makes the car feel unrefined but it’s just annoying on stop and go traffic. Plus, the brakes are not very good. Yes they work but i wish the Tiggo 2 Pro had better brake modulation. However, it does improve the driving dynamics compared to the standard Tiggo 2. It’s more responsive on open highways and the 1.5l engine really likes to max out it’s revs.

Space and Practicality:

Rated at 420L in the boot space, the Tiggo 2 Pro actually has a decent amount of space in the back. But I can’t say the same for back seat passengers. Sure it’s bearable at short trips but taking the 2 Pro to long drives? Good-luck back seat passengers.

Verdict:

The Chery Tiggo 2 Pro is a well-suited car for the Metro. Not the most comfortable I have to admit but the ride is fine. The most impressive part though is how safe you'll feel in this vehicle. Other cars costing more money can't even come close to having as many safety features as this model. For starters, you get a pair of airbags up front, auto stability control, hill decent and hold function, traction control, emergency signal warning, ISOFIX tethers and emergency brake system.

If you value safety and dependability in a car, this could be the one for you. This car is also a great value for the money; it's difficult to pass up the Tiggo 2 Pro.
