2022 Nissan Almera N-Sport Turbo: The Dark Horse of The Sedan Market

Now if you think about it, whenever we’re talking about different sedan choices here in the Philippines, we don’t really mention Nissan around the conversation that much as it is overshadowed by its competitors. So today, I am here to convince and change your perspective that the all new Nissan Almera N-Sport SHOULD belong to the same conversation and tier as its competitors out there in our market today.

Exterior:

What we have here for you today is Nissan’s gun mettalic grey color which, I may add, looks expensive and sporty. This color fits perfectly along with its black trims around the car as it brings life to the distinctive sharp body design of the Almera’s exterior.

The sharp body styling starts from the headlights, down to its LED foglamps, sporty front chin spoiler, and goes all the way to its elegant tail lights at the rear. Along with its new 16” style rims, the new Nissan Almera N-Sport actually screams aggressive and elegance that will definitely catch your attention. There are other colors available for the Almera like the Cayenne Red and Premium Corona Orange to name a few, but for me, this one really nailed it.

Interior:

The Almera’s interior is a mixture of leather, carbon fiber trims, and hard plastic. You have soft leather on the dashboard along with white stitching that gives it a good clean tailored look. A touch of carbon fiber trims can be found on your side door panels and on your odometer, which again if I may add, is part analog and part digital screen.

Now this interior feature is one of the things I like about the Almera as you can see all the information you need with a push of a button. It makes you see your fuel consumption, engine temperature, your actual speed, and more! Your infotainment system comes with AppleCarPlay and Andriod Auto.

And if that doesn’t work, you can connect your phone via Bluetooth, USB, and or an AUX Cord. To top it all off, you have comfortable leather seats all around plus really good noise cancellation for you to listen to your tunes in peace.

Engine:

Now this is where things get more interesting. If you think the all new Almera looks good inside and out, wait till you hear about the engine! Underneath the bonnet lies a 1.0L 3 cylinder turbo charged engine (yes you ‘ve read that right! It really is a 1.0L 3 cylinder engine!) that produces 100HP and 152Nm of torque. And if that doesn’t convince you, the engine of the Almera was built for maximum fuel efficiency as it has a fuel consumption rated at of 24km/l on the highway and 19km/l on the city. Not to mention its Sport mode! Despite the small engine, with a push of a button, the Almera gives you power you never thought a 1.0L 3 cylinder engine can ever give you!

Safety:

Nissan also went all out when it comes to the Almera’s safety features. The Almera has Anti-Lock brakes, Integrated Brake Assist System, Electronic Brakeforce distribution, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, and Nissan’s very own VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control).

Space and Practicality:

Aside from being known for its amazing numbers when it comes to fuel efficiency, the Nissan Almera is also known for its space and practicality. The sedan has the right amount of space on the inside as you have good enough leg and head room for

the front and at the back. When it comes to trunk space, it has about 474 Liters of space and more if you fold your rear seats!

Verdict:

When I heard about how fuel efficient the new Nissan Almera is, I immediately wanted to try it out myself just to see how true that statement is and yet after driving it around the city plus going on a long roadtrip to Nissan Lucena for our shoot, I was truly convinced! Driving the Almera through highways and traffic wasn’t a struggle at all as it was smooth, quiet, light, and the ride quality is just amazing.

The Almera N-Sport is the perfect partner for your every day drive as it has everything you need in a modern sedan. It’s sleek, fuel efficient, spacious, and worth your while. I have to admit, at first you wont expect that much from the car but after driving one Im sure you wouldn’t shut up about how great your experience was with it.
